With funding being cut for women's shelters many women will have no way to escape an abusive situation. These shelters provided protection against being killed by an abuser. However women who arm themselves stand a much better chance of surviving. Since the government is not going to protect these women then they must protect themselves. So-called assault rifles are ideal for self defense at one's home.
Already prisons are dumping violent criminals back on the street to make room for new ones. This will just get worse as the state and local governments run out of money. The government has failed miserably to protect us, we have to do it ourselves.
Everything from hurricane Katrina to Mid West floods creates instant survival challenges. Due to global warming storms will become worse and more often. During Katrina the city of New Orleans seized firearms from legal gun owners, leaving them easy prey for criminals. During recent floods National Guard troops enforce curfews and limit access to prevent looting. They will not always be there. There will always be people who take advantage of a disaster to loot and worse. You will have to defend yourself and your family from those who would take your food, water, generators, even your lives. Don't bother dialing 911, the phones will be dead, the police are gone or over extended. You are on your own.
Millions of illegal immigrants are in this country and more cross the borders daily. Along the borders people have been driven from their homes and national parks by this vile flood. For those who remain firearms are their only hope for survival in areas where law enforcement takes hours to arrive. Illegals also commit violent crimes and murder at twice the national average. By using stolen identities they evade arrest for their crimes.

We need to get Mexico out of the US, never mind getting the US out of
Iraq. Legal immigration is good, illegal is bad. Since illegal
immigrants are never screened we get lots of criminals along with
peaceful families.
